Dear Galactica Customers,
You have made great progress in turning your organization into a paper-free hospital using Galactica scanning. In the last few months a number of our existing customers have approached us about speeding up the capture of their clinical documents more ‘real-time’ rather than scanning at the back-end after discharge. This approach allows for faster online access to all documents thus enhancing cash-flow and making physicians, clinicians, and allied professionals happy.
This ‘best practice’ has been referred to as ‘concurrent scanning/automated document capture’ where the following occurs:
· Instead of scanning clinical documents at the back-end, the process is automated upfront so there is concurrent scanning taking place on the nursing floors and other clinical areas while patient care is in progress
· Upfront capture and indexing of documents from diagnostics system while the patient is in-house
· Concurrent scanned/captured documents are available for online access for physicians, case managers, nurses, QA/UR, etc thus eliminating concurrent paper chart access challenges, completion of verbal order signature in timely manner, and delays of chart completion for billing and other regulatory purposes.
Many of our customers have successfully applied concurrent scanning in areas of admitting and other financial areas but have had little success with documents on the clinical floors due to complex scanning and indexing of clinical documents.
TSG has now developed a ‘best practice’ analysis and implementation process where we can provide evaluation and analysis of what you are currently scanning at the backend and show you benefits of upfront scanning and document capture.
If you are interested, we would be happy to do a web conference call with our senior executive where we can discuss this further.
Looking forward to hearing from you
